funeral terms

Remembering someone special in a personal way can be healing for everyone concerned, for a eulogy is a deeply personal way of saying goodbye. Friends and family can be really helpful at a time like this but this doesn't help you to put down on paper how you really felt about your mom.

Poems can be the perfect way to get across what you want to say. It s not for summarising the person's life and it doesn t have to speak for all present. Another part of a good statement will describe some shared memories of the deceased.

While eulogy is about your memories and your perception of the deceased keep in mind that eulogy is a tribute to the person who has passed on. If you were best friends since high school or college, then talk about the good times you had and how he helped you during those years. Look at your local bookstore for poetry books that have memorial or condolence poems included or search online for posted poetry.

While overwhelming, it does not need to be confusing. If you are gifted with the blessing and talent of writing poetry for the dead, share it.
