sam cooke funeral

As much as you love someone, recalling the details of their life at the time of their death is an overwhelming responsibility. Few of us have time to learn how to write a eulogy in advance.

When you are grieving, it is normal that your thoughts are about death, but remember it is about celebrating a life lived as well. It is usually read to commemorate a dearly departed, to celebrate the life spent here on earth and the memories that go with him. You may feel that you are too sad or that you don't have the skills to write and deliver an appropriately moving tribute at a funeral or memorial service.

Many people are afraid, that everything is unraveling when their loved one dies. A poem you write for someone you know of might just bring the same reassuring message to other families who suffer through death. If you are still looking for funeral poems, I have written more on the subject which I hope you may find useful.

To be asked to deliver a memorial tribute is to be given the responsibility of assisting many. While overwhelming, it does not need to be confusing.
